World Intellectual Property Day
April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day and once again this year the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (SPTO) did not want to miss the opportunity to celebrate it, together with the Ministry of Culture. Under the slogan chosen by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to commemorate this day: "Intellectual Property and the Sustainable Development Goals: our common future is forged with innovation and creativity" an event took place at the National Archaeological Museum (MAN).

EU Commission recommends measures against counterfeiting and enforcement of industrial property rights
On March 19, the EU Commission adopted the Recommendation "EU Toolbox against counterfeiting". The Recommendation aims to enhance collaboration between right holders, service providers and law enforcement agencies, as well as to promote best practices and the use of modern tools and technologies.

The SPTO's monthly statistics are renewed: new, improved, easy and accessible design
The SPTO Statistics Service has developed a new monthly statistics report, which is now available on the website. This report, in Excel format, is more user-friendly and accessible, with the aim of making it more useful for everyone. It is part of the commitments undertaken by the Office within the Strategic Plan 1.2.2 project for Updating and modernizing the SPTO's training and information content, with the aim of improving users' understanding of industrial property statistical data.

CSIC publishes a catalog of its most outstanding technologies ready for transfer to the market
On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, April 26, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) presented a free catalog with 100 of its leading technologies, at an event held in the Converge space, the CSIC's open innovation hub, with the participation of the institution's president, Eloísa del Pino, and the director of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), Aida Fernández.

La Innovación española en Alternativas Alimentarias
En los últimos años, hemos sido testigos de cambios significativos en las tendencias alimentarias a escala mundial. El 25 de septiembre de 2015 los Estados miembros componentes de la Asamblea General de la ONU adoptaron la denominada Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. Dicha Agenda plantea 17 Objetivos con 169 metas de carácter integrado e indivisible que abarcan las esferas económica, social y ambiental.
