The present invention refers to the strain VM02 of the species B. velezensis, deposited in the Spanish Type Culture Collection under CECT number 30277, for application in horticultural crops as a biofertilizer and antagonist of phytopathogenic fungi. The strain VM02 has the ability to fix nitrogen, solubilize phosphates, produce ACC deaminase, and produce siderophores. The invention involves the evaluation of the strain's antifungal activity against pathogenic fungi of agricultural crops. The invention also includes the doses and manners of application of products containing the VM02 strain, which stimulate the plant and reproductive development of melon, watermelon, and pepper crops, and also increase the production and fruit quality. Likewise, the invention includes the dose and manner of application of products containing VM02 with the ability to inhibit the fungus Podosphaera fusca in zucchini crops.
