Strategic Promotion Plan for Industrial Property in Spain
The Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Miguel Sebastián, has presented Plan π, the first Strategic Promotion Plan for Industrial Property elaborated in Spain. The plan forms part of the sustainable economy strategy and aims at positioning Industrial Property as a factor of innovation, competitiveness and growth for the future of the Spanish economy.
New SPTO payment system
The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), in continuation with its policy of improving access for citizens and companies in accordance with Electronic Administration Law 11/2007, has incorporated a new electronic payment system that will facilitate carrying out procedures with the SPTO.
Europe 2020: the European Commission proposes a new economic strategy
Last Wednesday, March 3, the Commission presented a communication with which it intends to implement Strategy 2020, aimed at helping Europe emerge from the crisis and prepare its economy for the next decade.
On March 1, the EU Council of Ministers reached an agreement on adopting a resolution for enforcing Intellectual Property rights in the internal market. Negotiations on the resolution began and concluded in the first quarter of 2010, thereby becoming one of the first successes of the Union's Spanish Presidency.
The European Patent Forum will reveal the strengths and weaknesses of European Technology in the area of renewable energies, indicating whether or not the European Industry is still leading the green boom race, and if public expenditures and support policies are suitable for existing tasks. The forum focuses on sustainable mobility -a phenomenon encompassing a large market- and on the potential for reducing CO2 emissions.
