International Design Congress

Design, as a form of creative expression, involves giving products or services a specific external appearance. In the most advanced economies, design plays a crucial role in economic terms. Consumers value the aesthetics of objects beyond their practical utility, especially in sectors such as fashion, where the visual aspect is fundamental.

To discuss these issues, the Alicante Chamber of Commerce organized the 1st International Design Congress on May 16 and 17.

The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) participated in this congress, offering its perspective on the subject. Among other aspects, they give a perspective about the legal protection tools necessary for the differentiation strategy, which is key for our industry. During the meeting, valuable information was provided on how companies can take advantage of the tools available at industrial property offices to strengthen their strategies and protect their intangible assets.
