The SPTO keeps on moving to provide you with the best possible service. Recently, a series of news which can be of interest to you have been happening.

Firstly, we would like to highlight the Industrial Designs Guidelines Updating with a new useful accessible format. It is divided in two parts: Part A details the procedure until granting, it includes as a novelty the approach regarding the designs graphic representation that is shared in Europe; Part B details the opposition procedure, it includes several examples of the SPTO criteria on various subjects interpretation such as informed user or designer freedom degree.

Secondly, we are glad to inform you that we have the new version of the International Patent Classification (IPC) already available in Spanish. It introduces relevant changes on the classes and subclasses system.

Lastly, we would like to underline the creation of the new CEO – SPTO Record Query Database, which brings a series of important improvements.
