SPTO at the National Industry CongressThe National Industry Congress, an event led by the Ministry of Industry, brought together in Barcelona the main agents of the industrial and innovation sector in Spain. The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) participated in the event, answering queries from attendees, guiding them on how to protect their intangible assets. In addition, the director of the SPTO, Elisa Rodríguez Ortiz, participated in the Round Table 'Talent, Innovation and Technological Sovereignty', which discussed the importance of promoting Spanish industrial property (IP). The director placed special emphasis on the SPTO's dissemination and awareness-raising work to increase the culture of Industrial Property in our country and ensure that it permeates, especially in leading and strategic sectors, and that IP is also present in other policies, plans and strategies. Throughout the congress, successful experiences of knowledge transfer from universities to private enterprise were shared and measures were proposed to facilitate and promote contact and feedback between them, such as streamlining certain administrative procedures. Many of the speakers also stressed the need to attract and retain talent, making the industrial sector more attractive to both young people and women, in order to make the future of the sector more sustainable and reduce the gender gap that currently exists. On the other hand, the undersecretary for Industry and Tourism, Pablo Garde, introduced the round table entitled "Conversation on the new draft law on industry and strategic autonomy", in which the Director General for Industrial Strategy and SMEs, Jordi García Brustenga, together with various social actors - employers and trade unions - were able to exchange views on the main innovations that this new regulation will bring.
