April 26th: Intellectual Property Day

Once again, April has arrived, and with it, the World Intellectual Property Day.

This year's theme, sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has been:

Women and Intellectual and Industrial Property: accelerating innovation and creativity.

On this occasion, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A., (SPTO) in collaboration with the Directorate General of Cultural Industries, Intellectual Property and Cooperation (DGICPIC) of the Ministry of Culture and Sport organized a conference at the Circulo de Bellas Artes (CBA). 

The event was inaugurated by the general directors of both organizations and welcomed by the director of the CBA.

This was followed by a round table in which the participants, representatives from the world of design, robotics, performing arts and business, presented in a pleasant and relaxed way the different situations and problems they face throughout their professional lives, highlighting the importance of protection in the field of industrial and intellectual property.

The day was closed by the Minister of Culture and Sport, who stressed the importance of the protection of intangible assets and the collaboration of institutions to achieve these fundamental objectives for society.
