A method for identifying a polyvinyl alcohol resin film, the method comprising: measuring the content ratio 14C/C of carbon-14 (14C) in all carbon, to distinguish a polyvinyl alcohol resin film containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin (Ab) in which all or a portion of carbon is derived from biological ethylene (Bb), from a polyvinyl alcohol resin film containing only a polyvinyl alcohol resin (Ap) derived from ethylene (Bp) derived only from fossil fuel.
